first_imgIndia cricket team has been synonymous with its blue jersey over the years. The senior national team, the most-followed in the country, are famously dubbed as the Men in Blue. However, that is about to change as India are gearing up to sport Orange jerseys for their World Cup 2019 match against England on June 30. Every team at the 10-team World Cup apart from hosts England have been asked to come up with two jerseys, including a reserve jersey for away matches.India Today had confirmed earlier this week that India will be wearing a new Orange-dominated jersey for the game vs England. England, who also wear a blue-dominated jersey, have the right to retain their first-choice kits since they have been labelled as the home team for their big-ticket clash in Birmingham.”For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event,” the International Cricket Council had said in a release. As it turns out, images of an Orange-dominated jersey is going viral on social media with several users claiming it to be India’s official reserve kit. Patches of Orange can be seen along the shoulders and collar with a dark-blue splattering dominating the shirt.Popular fan of Team India and Sachin Tendulkar, Sudhir Kumar posted a photo of the rumoured Indian away kit on his Instagram page, adding to speculations.advertisementHowever, India Today has not been able to verify the authenticity of the claims. Neither the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nor the official kit manufacturers of Team India have confirmed the official design of India’s away kit for World Cup 2019.Is this India’s new away Jersey? @BCCI @ICC pic.twitter.com/KwNIfPhNT4Tejas Bhatia (@tejasbhatiaa) June 21, 2019India’s new orange jersey against Afghanistan.Isn’t it looking like IPL’s Gujarat Lions team’s jersey ?? #Worldcup #ICCWC2019 #ICCCricketWorldCup2019 pic.twitter.com/BOrYWx5WVZRj Harshil (@RjHarshil) June 20, 2019This match is going to be interesting.New jersey and highest score India.I guess it could cross 400 if toss wins??#INDvAFG pic.twitter.com/OCrN7eJfQXimmortal soul (@Nagesh70731601) June 22, 2019Notably, Sri Lanka had used their reserve kits, which is dominated by a splattering of yellow, during their upset win over hosts England on Friday at Headingley in Leeds.
