(July 22) – Ken Schrader still displays the victory lane check he received after winning the feature in his first visit to I-30 Speedway nine years ago.Now he’ll be able to show off a second such memento.Schrader topped a who’s who field of IMCA Modifieds in winning Saturday night’s Ed Jordan Memorial and $2,500 at Little Rock. He led all 30 laps after starting from the pole and took the checkers ahead of a fast-closing Jeff Taylor.“I looked around and there were a lot of cars I knew,” the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier said. “I was concerned when we drew last in our heat but it was one of those nights when things worked out.”“The track was good,” he added. “You could run all over it.”Schrader had caught up to the back of the field but a couple cautions late in the contest kept lapped traffic from becoming an issue.Taylor had started ninth. Our extra special guest is Dr. Maguire and among our special guests will be Liam O Neill who takes over as GAA president next year, Joe Brolly who will be meeting up with his Glenswilly relations and Charlie Collins from Highland Radio. We hope to see all former and current players, club officers and supporters on the night. If you have relations who were involved and who will be down for the holidays why not bring them along and meet up with their former team mates.The club underage presentation is on Sunday night in the clubhouse @ 7pm sharp, all underage management to organise their teams to be present. Dinner dance tickets, the Donegal year book and dvd’s of the strictly come dancing will be available on the night. The gym is ladies only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm.Mary C would like to thank all those who supported her recent coffee morning in the clubhouse, and would also like to thank the club for the use of the facilities. A total of €2245 was made for the Donegal hospice.
